I have enjoyed the privilege of painting many portraits over the years. What a beautiful way to honor or remember a loved one as they are at a particular time in their life.

A portrait is an investment for the future, unending enjoyment of a moment in time. Also, a portrait is fine art. How many times I’ve wandered through a museum and studied old master portraits and wondered about the person in the painting. To own a portrait is to enjoy art on two levels, the personal and the aesthetic.

I feel gifted to be able to capture a likeness. I like to feel as though I attain something special about the person in the painting. I do my portraits primarily in oil and pastel but have done many in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, and water color.
